My Oris Artelier Moonphase watch clasp opened with little provocation, until I was at a park and lock and took my jacket off and saw it fall from inside my sleeve to the ground destroying the crystal and scratching the stainless. They wanted $375 dollars to repair it, while claiming nothing was wrong with the clasp, though still under warranty.

Should a watch come off when you take your jacket off?

There is no safety clasp, perhaps it's an Oris faux pas, but World of Watches / Swiss Watch International should have fixed it no charge, or given me a new one. The watch cost me just under $850.00

If your claims are correct that's a shame. I have an Oris, Ocean7, Two Squales, Stowa, Kadoo, Tag and Rolex getting treated that way with expensive purchases is foolish on their part.

I also have some Seiko premier divers I gave to my Son, never had an issue from folks I bought them from. Thanks for the warning I will avoid the site, watch sales need service.

I have purchased several watches from the site and have had no issues. Maybe they have gotten better over time?

When it comes to warranties, please keep in mind that it is often not the store who covers warranty repairs- it is the manufacturer. I work for a distributor and we have to explain that to customers all the time when they throw out the documentation from the company the product comes from and call us for repairs. Yes, they will repair it but no, it will not be free. This is not uncommon among distribution houses, which is what this company is.

I see most of the complaints here I have read involve someone calling the company directly for warranty repairs, so I hope I helped someone who may also be misguided when it comes to warranty repair.

Well..... That actually is not correct.

If the company/store is an authorized dealer than the watch is indeed covered by the manufacturer.

However, if they are not authorized dealers, many let the consumer know in the fine print exactly who is the warranty is covered by. World of Watches are covered by both.

worst online company i ever dealt with . i purchased a watch from them when it arrived it did not work this watch had a screw down crown which would not disengage from the hands to set it , after 3 phone calls ,20 to 30 minutes on hold and when i finally got somebody they would cut me off when i finally got somebody they argued with me about my claim that the watch i was holding in my hand had a screw down crown , I KNOW what a screwdown crown is !

finally spoke to a supervisor who also was argumentative about the watch , long story short , i shipped it back and am waiting for my credit card statement to show the credit .

i will never buy from that company again , very rude and apparently overworked customer service , rude supervisors and *** merchandise. STAY AWAY from WORLD OF WATCHES

I purchased a watch for my boyfriend for Valentine's Day on Feb. 4th through World of Watches.

I received my order in the mail two days later; however, it was not the watch I purchased. It had the correct item number on the watch and on the box, but it was not the watch I purchased (the one I bought was much nicer.) I took a picture of the watch I received and sent it to Customer Service, asking them to send me a return shipping label so I could send it back to them and they could send me the right one. They responded that I needed to call them to get this sorted out so I did and was on hold for 20 minutes before anyone answered. When they finally answered, they told me that I needed to send them back the watch via Ground Shipping, which takes 2-3 days (they wouldn't expedite it to Overnight) before they would send me the watch I ordered, which again would come via Ground Shipping.

And, it took 24 hours for them to even send me the mailing label so now, at this rate, I will not have the watch in time for Valentine's Day.

Nor will I EVER order from World of Watches again because their Customer Service is HORRIBLE!! :(

Bought Rotary Evolution 3months plus ago, found that the Day Hand come out and scratch on serial number side. Suspected is reject or RMA item.

Write an email to customer service, no respond at all...

Really bad service and low quality watches. Please don't buy from the website.

Why buying a fake watch from a fake on line crooks?

if you can't afford a real watch from a reputable store, use your cell phone.( it will give you time).

I do not feel sorry for all the pretentiousness, and show off. they are helping the parasites to grow wealthy.

I bought a Swiss Legend and my daughter bought the exact same one. The clasps come open unexpectedly on both of these watches. Obviously the clasp is cheap which makes me wonder about the rest of the watch.

WOW is horrible. Horrible customer service.

Horrible website. Horrible returns. Horrible processing.

Horrible.

Did I say they are horrible?

Total ripoff. wont honor warranty.

I will never buy from them again. All their watches are "Gray Market Watches" bought in big closeouts for as little as 10 cents on the dollar. Their watches only carry their limited warranty. They dont cover crystals, bands, etc.

It is like buying a watch off the street. your on your own.BEWARE

All you winders get a grip, and put your head on your shoulders. Stop winding, you get what you pay for...you better get that right!

Just purchased in Invicta watch, I've had it for less than a week, it fell out of my hand on to the floor and the band SHATTERED! SHATTERED!!!

I paid $130 for this watch and only wore it 4 times!

This is ridiculous! And of course, customer service is closed over the weekends so there is nothing I can do about it now

I worked for a watch/jewelry service center many years ago. The majority of customers do not read the warranty provided with their products.

Many of the products we sold came with the manufactures warranty not our store's warranty. But customers would still send their merchandise to us. Then they would get upset that we couldn't repair their necklace etc and return the product to them. We would even include steps for getting it to the correct repair center!

I read my warranty and know what to expect. Customer service was hard to reach on the phone but were very courtesy. I would buy again and send my watch if needed and applicable. When buying anything...READ YOUR WARRANTY THOROUGHLY!

It will save you time, money and headaches in the future. A lazy consumer is a pissed one.

you play with words like they do. I addressed this earlier with a previous entry.

There is a difference when it comes to an authorized dealer and an unauthorized one. One offer you the manufacturers warranty and another offer either a warranty front them or a third party.

You should know the difference. You are part of the problem same as World of Watches.

"Cannot fill. No stock." even though the the worldofwatches website displayed "1 left" at the time of purchase.

So much for having a website that reports how many are left. Very disappointed with the 5% discount offered in exchange for my wasted time.

Was sent a donotreply@***.com e-mail to inform me that my order was canceled, which means if I tried to reply to the cancellation e-mail, my reply was bounced back. Therefore I decided to reply here.

WORLD OF WATCHES IS A TOTAL RIPOFF. DO NOT STAND BY WARRANTIES.

INVICTA WATCH BROKE IN THE WARRANTY PERIOD AND IT WOULD STILL COST ME AT LEAST $40 TO FIX INCLUDING SHIPPING. ALSO WARRANTY MIGHT BE VOID BECAUSE WATCH WAS OPENED TO REPLACE BATTERY!!!!

same thing happened to me, purchaed watch, saw it taken off website, and then was told it would not ship 3 days later, due to no stock. When I called to complain, they said it wasnt up to quality control standard. Yea, right.

well, just ordered my watch, so we'll see what happens... What I'm hoping is that the sell a *** ton of watches...and if they do, then I would expect a few people to have some bad experiences...and this website is specifically geared towards complaints.

When I look at other places asking for reviews..good and bad, seems like they've got a pretty good reputation... So, hopefully I remember to come back with whatever happens with mine..
